I had two more teeth extracted last week. I also had an implant go bad, so they yanked oat out of my jaw. FUCK ME did that hurt!! Having the one implant removed from my jawbone hurt TEN TIMES MORE than having two teeth extracted from my gums! And there wasn't much left of those teeth and had to hammer the roots loose with a hammer and a chisel! Seriously! He did! It was REALLY LOUD inside my head. He pierced my sinuses. I was bleeding out of my nose, and I had blood boogers. Good times. This round of implants cost me $12K. Last round cost $24K. This time next year, I'll have a mouth full of teefers. !! JOY!!!

About two months ago, my cat decided that he needed some very personal pets- something he rarely does. When he jumped up onto my lap, one of his rear talons sliced my calf about three inches long. He did it through my jeans and I didn't feel it. The next day, I noticed a trail of dried blood and a three-inch gash. I use Vaseline Intensive Care lotion. It's amazing stuff. I slathered it on repeatedly. It healed in about two days, but it looked like it might be getting infected. So, I kept using the Vaseline. It finally cleared up and the scab fell off. Stupid cat. He's lucky that he's cute. I constantly threaten him that I'll skin him with a dull butter knife and turn his hide into a pair of slippers. He used to be concerned when I said it to him. Now, he just ignores me and keeps texting his stupid kitty friends...

I was outside working on my car in the dark. I tripped over my toolbox and the latch sliced the top of my foot, 3 inches. Wound healed but the scar is pink and still visible 4 months later. Used to that stuff faded quickly and I'd only see the pale scars after I sunburn.

FINE I'll dive in :) I actually have a funny story. Recently decided to give TNG a rewatch. Kids are old enough now that it seemed it would be safe enough fare to have on in case they seemed interested too. Encounter at Farpoint went fine, they're moderately interested and want to see another episode. Move right into The Naked Now. Yeah... Did not remember the scene with Data and Tasha until it started. Following the "techniques" line, my wife nudged and suggested we should watch something else. In hindsight I may need to research a list of episodes best skipped. They can't all be Darmok.

Hey Tikki, Possible growing pains with the new set up. When this post is shown on the main page, it looks like there is a numbering font, but item one has a 1 in front of it, and item two, has a 1 in front of it, and item three has a 1 in front of it, and so on. When one clicks on the link to show the post in it's own window, those "numbers" just show as square bullets. I use Firefox with NoScript, with certain things white listed, but I get exactly the same behavior when I follow the links on Opera with no restrictions (looks the same to me). Attached is a Snip of the screen (the blog page wouldn't let me post a second photo showing the square bullets)

So, if you have room somewhere not near the dryer and are only doing this there because of the cats, might I recommend a piece of clear plexiglass? We also have cats the love to play with small objects so puzzles are covered up with a piece of plexiglass when not actively being worked on. This has solved the problem for us and might be of use to you. This is a pretty cool looking puzzle but colorblind me would probably struggle.

I used to have a day or 2 every week without eating. However, to stave off the hunger pangs I would either go to the pub or open a bottle of wine at home. It worked, in that I lost a stone and a half (20lb), but it probably played havoc with my innards. When I recently had my gall bladder removed the surgeon said it was "shrivelled". Still, the resultant sepsis, multiple organ failure and induced coma after the initial operation went bad, leading to 2 weeks in intensive care, knocked another stone and a half off so all was not lost. That was a month ago and I'm still hovering for the first time in decades at the upper limits of a healthy BMI. I'm easily identifiable when I wander around town because I'm dressed in 40-year old fashions, although I draw the line at flares.

I made it past 285... then I stopped stepping onto my scale, so I don't know what my all-time high was. I'm now hovering around 220. I feel much better. And I feel sexier, too. LMAO Good job!! Keep it up! It's worth it.

The sequel was already greenlight. I can't remember if it's due in 2024 or 2025. Took the family to this one. I thought it was okay. Some clever ideas in some places, some unsettling moments. You could definitely see where they changed some things to get the PG-13 rating. For some fun light ribbing. "how is she controlling other tech?" Man, haven't you seen how those kids hacked their schools announcement system to Rick Roll the whole school? Wireless tech is crazy when it's not secured. "How does she fit all those computer parts in her small frame?" Look at how small our cell phones are and how powerful they are compared to 10 years ago. Alternatively, this is a MARVEL movie and it's Pym Particles shrinking components. "Is she actually on a server somewhere and the body is just a puppet?" Yes. I'm guessing she backs herself up daily or something. "Why is that body so light at times, but able to be so strong at others? So she can do weird crazy unsettling movement things that trigger that uncanny valley part of your brain. "Why would they make a toy that could kill someone with it’s bare hands?" Lawn darts.

Adorable cats. Hope the move goes smoothly. I hate moving books. I love having books, I love reading books, but I absolutely loathe moving them. Why the hell would anyone that's working from home want to pay to rent an office and give up the perks of working from home? Perks like; no commute, you can wear shorts, you can wear sweatpants, you can grill out for lunch, no commute, you can wear T-shirts, you can get laundry done, you can do light chores during your lunch break so you don't have to do them after work or on the weekend, depending on the age of your child you don't have to worry about paying for childcare, no commute, being able to look at your phone during meetings that should have been an email, and finally NO COMMUTE! I mean, I guess I could see it if you hate the people you live with, but at that point it's probably better off if you just move out. And for those prices, not that far off (depending on the real estate and renters market in your area).

Two nights ago the wife and I watched the original Death on the Nile and the remake back to back, both for the first time (old one first). Absolutely loved the cast of each. The first one was so much better. There was much more suspense, much more drama (in a good way). As seasoned movie and tv watchers, we had NO idea who done it until it was actually revealed, and the final murders took us quite by surprise. If I had to recommend one over the other, I'd recommend the first one for the story and suspense, the second only for the cast (if only for being current).

We're very much aligned here. I originally played this one on the PS4. It was my personal game of the year. Might be my favorite game of the PS4 era. That or RDR 2. I had the same complaints as you as well. For the flying creatures, tethering them to the ground was about the only thing I could get to work right. Man. Riverworld. Way back in 2004 my wife and I rented this from our local Blockbuster. Then a few years later saw it in our Blockbuster mail order service. Two hours in we realized we already saw it. That's when I downloaded the list of movies in my Blockbuster mail order queue and started keeping a list of every movie we've ever watched. Then, when Blockbuster mail shut down and we moved to Redbox mail order, I just loaded all the remaining movies into Redbox, and to this day we're still using that list. Marking off what we've watched, what we have on usb to watch when we want to, adding new things we want to see, and keeping a list of what's coming and when (so I know when to look for them so I can download them). This was also the last time we saw Kevin Smith, who, at 38, died too young (an accident).

Strictly speaking, Hale isn't "reincarnated", he's "resurrected". Reincarnation is when you die and return to a new life in a different body (different than your original one), maybe even as a different species. Resurrection is when you return to essentially the same body as the one you inhabited when you died. You may not be the same age and the cells in the body certainly will be different, but it's still the same you. With reincarnation, you could come back as a nine-banded armadillo and end up as a speed bump on a Texas highway (aaaaand you're off to reincarnation again!)

Saw this opening weekend in a packed theater. It was intense. At the end of the movie when the credits started it was still deadly quiet until one audience member loudly proclaimed, "I don't know about ya'll but I'm getting the fuck outta here." Got a big laugh. Was still creeped out though when we got home. This was the first movie to legit make me frightened since I saw The Exorcist as a kid. It didn't happen again until I watched Terrified.

Watched this with the family when it came out. Daughter really liked it. I thought it was predictable but was overall done competently. I think they should have gone with it being a full blown reboot. The current crop of kids this movie was largely aimed at probably don't have a huge affinity for the original 101 Dalmatians.

See, I liked that pinhead wasn't front and center. It was a lot closer to the first movie that way. Yes, this is where the "let's slap the Hellraiser name on a different script" starts. This one pulls it off better than most. I like the rug-pull mind fuck of an ending too. I think after Bloodlines my expectations were zero and this was better than zero. I haven't revisited this one in awhile either. Going to see if I can give this one a cheap/free because I already subscribe to something that has it rewatch. Spoilers for a 21 year old movie. I believe the Inferno name is because the cop has been dead and in Hell for most of the movie, it just takes him until the end of the movie to figure it out. It relates back to what Frank said back in Hellraiser II, everyone gets their own personal Hell.

Sounds like you didn't really like the first one so you may want to save yourself some time and skip the rest. This franchise has about 9 movies, I'd say 4 or 5 of them are worth watching and the rest are complete garbage. And I really like the first one. Or, maybe we're completely opposite and you'll end up liking the ones that go more in a traditional slasher direction. The list of ones I'd bother with: Hellraiser Hellraiser II Inferno Hellseeker (only bother with this one if you watch 1 and 2 as it ties back to Kirsty) Deader I think the rest are complete garbage. Most of the sequels (even a few I like) were different scripts that they just sort of crammed into the Hellraiser franchise to both maintain ownership rights to the franchise and because they knew if they slapped the name on there and somehow tied it to the box or Pinhead, it would make money.

Trying to stay spoiler free will be difficult so I've just accepted that it's going to happen at some point. I'm seeing reports of between $71 and 83 million opening weekend domestically. Looks like between $127 and $140 million worldwide. Those number swings seem to be because some places counted Monday and others didn't. Weird decision to include a Monday in a "weekend" box office total because of the holiday but okay sure.

I enjoyed the game on PSVR. I played X-wing and Tie-fighter to absolute death when I was a kid and this is the closest I've got to that sort of feeling. In fact, I had a blast tooling around in the single-player campaign, which is too short but the missions are fun. I never really intended to play the multi-player - I always get curb-stomped playing against real people. Or 15 yr olds, whatever. However, I think you're dead right on the storyline talking heads - too many, too long and they don't add much. And the fact I've not picked it up again since probably says a lot. Worth picking up in a bargain bin for a fun couple of evenings single player entertainment though, I reckon.

Saw this with the kids at the weekend. We all loved it actually, which is unusual for us. But yes, Alyson Hannigan as the mother was a shock here, too. She was my wife's teenage crush, we were surprised to find out that a) she aged and b) was older than us. :D

I suspect strongly that film was truly someone’s Biography. There was a lot of Hollywood nonsense, and there were a lot of details, which seemed very specific. It is also an outstanding film it is own right, and should have received more recognition.
