Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) Dinner Tab
From the land of the $100,000,000,000 note. Hope it was delicious at that price!
Tiki God!
Was looking in the drink menu at Sam’s By The Sea here on Okinawa, had to snap a pic of this for Tiki!
Look, Tiki! Only 700 yen! (735 after tax! :P)
Shame this isn’t one of the drinks where you got to keep the cup, otherwise I might have ordered one.
Russian Boob Ceiling
They don’t get much bigger than these.
And I’m not buying the “Leaking upstairs plumbing” line either.

Magnetic Air Car
A new take on an old idea. An air powered car, with an on board compressor turned initially, by a magnetic motor powered by a high endurance, high efficiency automotive battery, and in steady state, by recycled compressed air.
Individually, all of these components, air powered cars, compressors, etc., already exist. Combine them with a little “Secret Sauce” and you get… The magnetic air car.
So far so good. Except for one thing. They claim that once in motion, you will get an *unlimited* driving range out of their combination. Supposedly without somehow violating the laws of physics.
Personally, I can see the potential for an extremely efficient system here, but *UNLIMITED* driving range? Unless that secret sauce is pixie dust or something, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Yamaha Midnight Star
This is my new 2008 Yamaha Midnight Star (V-Star 1300 , or XVS1300A)
The bike rides beautifully. For the price, it’s one heck of a
monster. I have nothing against Harley or American bikes, and
will own one eventually. The girl posing on the bike is a good
friend of mine. The purpose of the pic is the leather jacket
she is wearing. A friend in Argentina makes leather/fur goods.
They sent me some and requested some photos so I did a photoshoot
and decided this picture was probably worth posting.

It’s completely awesome, so I suggest you check it out. In case you can’t guess, it’s a scene from the 2008 Burning Man festival.
RIP Girlfriend
I know this is kind of stupid, but my dog, Girlfriend, just got put down today… She was cool, pretty old (19), and I’ll miss her. Her and I often browsed this site together.

Sword-billed Hummingbird
The Sword-billed Hummingbird is the only bird in the world which has a bill that is actually longer than its body. As such it is unable to preen itself and has to use its feet. This is universally acknowledged as one of nature’s stranger, funnier sights. The length of its bill is so it can feed on plants with long corollas. As you might expect its tongue is also unusually long.
Nissan Nuvu EV
Electric vehicles are the future. There’s no denying it. But if this is what the future is gonna look like, I want no part of it…
Project Orion
AKA the worst rocket idea EVAR.
Project Orion was a NASA “Nucular” rocket propulsion system from the 1950s. Except that nuclear powered, in this instance means nuclear BOMB powered.
The Orion rocket was essentially a nuclear pulse rocket designed to use a series of controlled/directed nuclear detonations for propulsion.
Nuclear reactions are some of the most energetic for any given mass of fuel, and could technically be an ideal energy source for high endurance, long range, space flight applications.
However, used in this fashion, it comes at the cost of some rather horrific radiation related side effects. The movie on the sauce page, give a little humorous insight about the problems, crew member radiation levels, eyeburn etc…
And that doesn’t even cover the environmental effects that a number of sequential, high yield nuclear explosions might occur at ground level after the fact… *shiver* But I suppose it would be better than the entire planet getting destroyed…
