A few weeks after 9/11 i flew to Canada – Ottawa International Airport (or something)- But half the airport runways were closed due to somewhere over a couple hundred of these fuckers wher parked there for deployment- Pretty amazing sight. Acres of apaches.. good thing Canadas on our side..

I live near where they train the Apache pilots. 12 o’clock at night you can hear them firing off 70mm and 30mm.
Forgot to add. These are Alpha models, the Deltas kick serious ass.
Saw the Apache in action during Desert Storm, awesome sight.
With Ka-50 aka Black Shark one could kick much more arses at once 🙂
I got to sit in the cockpit of an Apache during a training mission when I was enlisted. They had it and a Blackhawk on the ground, and I joined one of our sergeants in becoming 10 year old kids, complete with the “pew-pew-pews.” They did a live-fire exercise with these, and it was beyond awesome. Even now I get all kinds of turned on at the site of one of these bad boys. Told the hubby he needs to dress as a pilot one day…. 🙂
Man, I love Apaches… Second only to the RAH-66 Comanche… Pity they never took off…
