Ron Paul would probably drive the country into the ground if elected, and I am so goddamned sick of seeing morons on the internet (especially those that don’t even live in the US-WTF?!) saying how he would ‘save us’ and all that other bull. Ron Paul is NOT the best candidate, at least not at this time.

I actually would prefer Obama to Hillary, and I’ve argued this point with retired old guys, so I know it has merit:
Hillary KNOWS what is best for the country. She cannot be swayed, and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants.
Obama has a good idea of what he wants, but I think that if he sat down at a table with a committee, he would argue his point, others would argue theirs, and if they had a stronger, valid, better reason/idea/argument, he would change/adapt himself for the better/common good. He will admit he is wrong, or isn’t the smartest guy ever in the face of superior argument. If you have to vote democrat, please vote Obama. That reason alone (that Hillary thinks she is the greatest thing for this country, ever) is the reason I fear her in power.

I’m with you on that point. That is a very well formulated argument. I wish more people would stop looking at color, race and gender as significant deciding factors in a presidential election, and focus on who would actually be a good president…

The other thing that I hate about modern politics is that people who run for president talk about what a great candidate they are. The best candidate is the man (or woman) who doesn’t WANT the post, because they know how much responsibility it is. RESPONSIBILITY, not power. Ben Parker anyone?

I think the self promotion is a necessary evil. After all, you have to let others know of your strengths if you want them to vote for you. And while the quality candidates do realize the great responsibilities that accompany running a country, once they have decided to run, you automatically have to learn to be somewhat immodest if you want the people to vote for you. In a perfect world, this would not be necessary, but IRL, especially here in America, it’s a freakin’ requirement…
