Pushing Ice review

Pushing Ice cover Amazon Pushing Ice

2057. Bella Lind and the crew of her nuclear-powered ship, the Rockhopper, push ice. They mine comets. But nothing can prepare them for the surprises in store when Janus, one of Saturn’s ice moons, spins out of control.

That synopsis is correct, but holy moly there’s more to the story that absolutely blew my mind. I loved every moment of it, and it went places that I couldn’t have even imagined. I would have been ok with just a comet mining story, but the story went far beyond.

All of Alastair Reynolds scifi books are great and leave you wanting more. He has a very different way of exploring a narrative of space flight between stars. If you haven’t read his other books I highly recommend them. =)

Have you read Off to be a Wizard yet?

Too bad the Kindle pricing is porcine.

I love Alastair Reynolds. He’s one of my writing inspirations even though I’m nowhere near his caliber.

Seeing your name it makes me think of the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot books. So what do you write?

    Mostly Urban Fantasy/horror, but I’ve got a near-future sci-fi book I’m working on.
