He was allowed to randomly pick members of the jury. Apparently, something the judge has done before.
That’s fucking weird and not how that’s supposed to work at all.

This trial was a joke. The judge was practically a member of the defense team, and needs to be disbarred immediately.
Fortunately, the kid’s life is effectively over. No legit college will accept him, and acquitted murderers think they’re untouchable and inevitable re-offend.

Judge Schroeder is a registered Democrat. The Kenosha County Democratic Party endorsed him to replace the district attorney in 1972, and he ran for the Wisconsin senate as a Democrat in 1975.
