Assistant principal fired after reading children’s book to class

An assistant principal in Mississippi said he had read “I Need a New Butt!” at previous school districts before and never heard any pushback or complaints.

Aren’t there laws in the US protecting employees from wrongful dismissal? Or do the Republicans view employee rights legislation as being some form of deep communism?

nearly all states in the US are “Right To Work” states, which means you can be terminated at any time with no reason given.

Even if you are terminated for reasons which seem to be hate or race based? This is another area where the US has departed completely from norms accepted by all other developed nations. How odd.
Anyway, I hope this blameless teacher gets his (unprotected) job back.

I agree with you, but the burden of proven it’s a hate or race based termination falls on the terminated and usually external investigators don’t get involved unless the terminated pays for them.
