This could be interesting for them. They had been losing viewership and attendance for awhile anyhow. From what I gather they have been failing to attract new younger fans to replace some of the older now dead fans and the tickets had become unaffordable for many existing fans. This move will definitely turn off some of their fans. While the right thing to do, this probably won’t help their bottom line either. Maybe if races weren’t 3 1/2 to 4 hours long.

with the shutdown, this is their perfect opportunity to break free of the racist fans and restart their races with better exposure and a cleaner brand. It’s not going to completely separate them from the notion that it’s all inbred redneck ratfucks watching it, but it’ll definitely move them further away from that conception.
