in all seriousness though, if I’m going to blow out my day’s calories with a 2000 cal. burger, why would I drink another 400 in soda?

Sweet Meal
I sorta get the ketchup on the steak (that’s overcooked and rubbery looking anyways) but I’ve never heard of anyone using ketchup on bananas. wtf.
Wet Hot American Summer review
Get ready for laughs with an all-star cast in the outrageous comedy Wet Hot American Summer. It’s the last day of Camp Firewood’s season, but there’s still time for the big talent show, a little romance… and for everyone to be wiped out by the piece of NASA’s Skylab that’s hurtling toward Earth. David Wain (Role Models) directs Paul Rudd (Knocked Up), Elizabeth Banks (The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Amy Poehler (Baby Mama), Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live), Janeane Garofalo (Reality Bites), David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) and Michael Showalter in “the most delectable satire in years.” (Entertainment Weekly)

Not that great of a movie, and completely forgettable if not for the massive pile of talent that had parts. For a few of them (Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, et al), this was their FIRST film, which blows my mind:
- how did the director win that lottery?
- Bradley Cooper’s first film had a gay sexy scene in it? wtf.
- Isn’t that the guy from Brooklyn 99?

The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, Book 2) review
Tags:Book Reviews, Books, The Maze Runner
Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end.
Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.
There are no rules. There is no help. You either make it or you die.
The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.
Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off.
There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers’ destruction—and they’re determined to survive.

This was a particularly bloody story, a few decapitations and mutilations with some stuff that I’m pretty sure isn’t going to make it into the PG-13 movie that’s coming out soon. It has the feel of the second act of a 5 act story, which is bit of a blessing, as it shows the author has an idea of what he’s wanting to do on the larger canvas, with more of the larger story being told through recovered memories and flashbacks from other characters. It was a quick read too, I think it only took me 3 or 4 hours to burn through all 400 pages. Now to the third book where hopefully we learn more about WICKD and how awesome they are and what plans they have to torture our heroes with.

Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem review
It’s Halloween night in Gotham and a mysterious crime spree has Batman on the trail of the city’s spookiest villains: the Joker, Scarecrow, Clayface, Silver Banshee and Solomon Grundy.
Source: Amazon
Directed by : Butch Lukic
Notably Absent: Mark Hamill / Kevin Conroy
A passable Batman movie with some confusing changes to the characters, but close enough to their more well known Bruce Timm versions to not be a complete waste of time. The guys voicing batman and the joker were not the people that we all want to voice those characters, but they did a well enough impression of Mark Hammill and Kevin Conroy that I actually had to look them up half way the movie to be sure.
