    Countries and continents are artificial distinctions. Europe and the US are both landmass with about the same size, about the same population and about the same level of economic development. There are plenty of instances where comparing the two is valid and informative.

    Don’t forget too that Europe has a long cultural history, while America is an amalgamation of various European cultures and some cultural innovations of its own. America is a new country compared to the long past of Europe.

    “Country” refers to a political entity. There are very few European countries that can really claim to be as old as the United States. E.g. Germany and Itaty did not exist as unified countries until the 19th century.

    Oh wait I remember now. Its because as usual Tobias is right and this image is comparing cultures not countries though the dumb pussyass who made it seems to forget that citing precedent in culture isn’t so much about crediting the outcomes to yourself but instead giving an indication of how things could evolve based on past events.

    But all it really does is show how 99.9% of the world aren’t happy until they’re unhappy. If people don’t have someone to direct their anger at then they find someone.
