Literally no one is siding with Putin. An argument could be made that Obama sided with Putin when he told Medvedev to pass on to Putin that he, Obama, would be more flexible after the election. Or when he cancelled deploying missile to Eastern Europe because Putin disapproved. Or when he drew a red-line in Syria and did nothing when Syria and Russia ignored it. Or when his Admin approved drilling permits on federal land at the lowest/slowest rate in history which helped propped up global crude oil prices which is Russia’s main source of income. Or when… you get the idea. The defense budget Trump just submitted is designed to improve US deterrence against Russia and or China, but Trump is a puppet, got it.
