Wasn’t Warp 10 the required speed to travel back in time?

warp 10 and a star to slingshot around.

In TOS. In TNG it acted like some Barclay Teleport thingy.

    Maxwell Edison

A handy reference until you actually watch TOS and they regularly refer to going speeds of Warp 11 and Warp 14 many times.

    timtim

They re-did the scale for Warp speeds when the next generation came out, setting the max possible to 10.

When I was 8 my mom got me the old Star Trek Technical Manual that came out around the time the Next Generation began airing.

I actually regained my virginity by knowing that and sharing it with you.

Nice chart, except for the total math fail in it. Speed of 1 light year/year and distance across the federation 10,000 light years means at warp 1 it takes 10,000 years to go from one end to the other, not 100,000. Therefore their argument is invalid and BSG becomes the much better show.

It’s Star Trek. That alone kills all logic…

    They are actually Historical Documents.

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t transwarp technically blow this all out of the water, it’s rated as about warp 20. Though I suppose they could be using a new scale again, kind of a cop out though.

I always just think of any references to going at or above warp 10 to be using the TOS scale, and other references to be using the 1-10 scale.

And the chart is wrong. No one has ever gone at warp 10, because that episode never happened. Ask any of the writers, producers, or actors. They’ll tell you. 😀

They went trans-warp in Voyageur. then they super evolved in quadruped lizards that had acted solely upon instinct
