    Are there people who are attracted to girls who permanently look like the cover of a metal shop student’s binder? It’s like the female personification of a Magic Eye picture, but instead of seeing a stereogram you just see the one bright spot of subjective youth and beauty between two dark ages of abuse and regret.

    Yes, but an otherwise average girl gets a boatload of attention from a certain demographic, and thus they keep doing this stuff. Same reason there are emo girls and goth girls and (god help us) juggalo girls, etc. If you’re not a natural knockout, you may as well go for specialization.

    That’s a pretty fair assessment, actually. I mean, it’s still a shame that they’re that shallow, but I never looked at it from that angle.
