The problem is that most cars aren’t designed to have scissor doors, so they come out a bit then up, and it looks dumb.

If you look at the murcielago, the area in front of the door is curved to allow it to rotate straight up.

I do sometimes wish my G had the scissors though, makes for easy entry and exit. (especially since lambos have very long doors)
