A case I built for Penny Arcade Expo (PAX East 2011)

The DIVpc; based on the drunken, swearing DVD player in the Penny Arcade comic strip. I built him this winter for the PAX East gaming expo in Boston, and brought him to the Bring Your Own Computer area.
The base is plywood and pine board; the arms are PVC pipe, legs are black iron pipe, and the sculpting is done with wire mesh, air-dry cly, and Bondo glazing putty.

There be spiders here
the short story is flooding in Pakistan drove spiders up trees. The locals say they haven’t had as many mosquito issues lately.

Doesn’t get good gas milage, but never have to worry about traffic and parking.
The Fucking Champion (my ride)
My wife and I inherited this truck from her dad. The transmission was slipping, the brakes wobbled, there was an ever present burning oil smell. We were not enthusiastic about keeping it. Then it got pancaked in a 6-car pileup just outside of Seattle, WA. After some work with a crowbar and hammer we made it to our destination 80 miles away, after which we decided to just take the insurance money to total it and drive it as far as it would go til it died.
That was 2 years ago. Since then it has made the round trip between the SF Bay Area and La Conner WA three times, as well as hauling many tons of gravel, wood chips and masonry for our various landscaping projects around here, not to mention towing around a 1 ton ball made out of bras (long story).
Now the registration is waaay expired, and there’s no way it would pass the WA inspection, not to mention getting a salvage title. We’re going to have to get rid of it sooner or later, and I’m really going to miss it.
That green tin lid jammed in the grill is the mechanism by which I aim the headlight. I guess its about time for another tape-job, too.
My Ride
Here is my 97 Camaro Z28 with t-tops and a 6 speed. Fun car with vary few mods done to it so far.
My Ride Theme Day
First pic is my daily ride…Well one of many.
Second is my motorbike.
That’s how I roll.
My first 3 vehicles
I don’t have any pictures of my cars but these all look like them
My first vehicle was a white 1995 Dodge Dakota It had an extened cab and a V8 engine. It was 16th birthday present. (I was a bit spoiled as a youngster) My 2nd car that I bought was the 2002 Silver Dodge Intrepid. My newest vehicle (which was influenced heavily by my wife is the 2011 Toyota Rav 4.
My Ride
1991 Toyota Corolla. 196,500 miles on it. I bought it for $250, and I’ve put $200 of new tires, flex pipe, speakers, etc. This is it buried in the snow following the D.C. Snowpocalypse of 2010.
My Ride: Honda Civic ’00
Technically not my car. Just googled this one. But my car is exactly the same.
Gingerbreadmobile
nobody wants to see a boring, white Neon.
so, here’s a car I WANT, instead.
