Soon the “participating residents” will be part of the EULA that comes with these things and you won’t be able to opt out. Even paranoid QAnon co-worker has one of these Ring doorbells and I can’t believe the cognitive dissonance he spins trying to explain how this is different than if the cops installed cameras on the streetlight outside his house. Folks, if you want a CCTV system for your home (exterior or interior of the house), fine, but make sure it’s on an internal network that can’t reach out to the internet. Otherwise someone will find a way in if they really want to.
