This is like going to the political science classes, showing everyone there a list of all the political doctrines that have “died” during the history of humanity and expect everyone to simply give up the very idea of having any thoughts about politics.

Your argument concerning sciences does not make any sense. Science does not claim to produce absolute truths as religion does. Thus, scientific theories are replaced by new theories, if the new theories (or an expansion of previous ones) give a better understanding of natural phenomena. This does not necessarily mean that the previous theories were “wrong” and “died”. It rather means they failed to explain some aspects of an observation, where the new on did not. So, if you come up with good new theory, then sooner or later it will be accepted by all sane people.
Religions (and many political doctrines*) simply say: We know the eternal truth! Your god does not exist, but ours!
*) doctrine: a set of ideas or beliefs that are taught or believed to be true. (Sounds like religion, does it not?)
