It was a drawn out storyline involving some random mad surgeon who did shit that leather face did, and cut & re-use skin. It built up to this.
TL;DR
Scott Snyder’s Batman is the best Batman out there.

He got it sewn back on. I think it was the puppet master who cut his face off. And it’s not really sewn on too well. There are some staples and shit too.

Death In The Family is pretty good. The Long Halloween, The Killing Joke, The Joker (new one that came out around TDK) are all amazing. I don’t read comics a lot but I will grab anything decent with The Joker in it. I had so many copies of The Killing Joke as a kid and it got me hooked on the character.
