The Lone Ranger, a franchise written and perpetrated by people who have absolutely no idea what the Frontier Battalion and the State Rangers did. Just awful.
That’s why it’s called the “Lone Ranger”, and not the “Currently Active Duty State Ranger.” Seriously, it’s well established that he was a vigilante, being a Texas Ranger (not clear if that’s Texas the state or Texas the republic) only in the first episode of the radio show.
Judging by their use of revolvers and repeating rifles, and the premise of him being a former Texas Ranger, it would be safe to say that the show is set in the Frontier Ranger era of the Texas Rangers (1870’s to 1900’s), when Texas was a state.
