I must have rewatched this one twenty times by now. I love the actor and the script but also the real guy and his story and the fight scenes were delicious. This was probably the sweetest surprise of 2008 because I didn’t know they were filming it. So thanks for this, the first one is my new wallpaper.
Been dieing to see this one. Twas finely released here in the US on Tuesday. Cannot wait to get my next paycheck to pick it up and no doubt I will rewatch it many times over. Your welcome.
You mean on DVD? You know Ip Man 2 is out already as well? I’m not sure though if you can watch it at the cinema, they won’t show it here for sure. They just don’t want me to see a good foreign film in its original language on the big screen.
My computer is dieing so I can’t download movies anymore and yes, I mean on DVD. I have heard about Ip Man 2. Didn’t know it was out though. I too hate how cinemas don’t want us to watch good foreign films. I love foreign films!

I really enjoyed this film. I always watch foreign films in original language too, I hate dubbed stuff.

This was such a great movie. Is 2 any good?
I have it on my hard drive but didn’t watch it yet. They say the fight scenes are still of the same quality but everything else got a little more mainstream.
I guess it was to be expected to make a more “mainstream” approach, but both movies are spectacular.
Certainly a lot better than all the hyped special-effects galore we are treated to each time we think of martial arts.
Ip man 2 has been out for a while now on dvd. Haven’t gotten around to watching it yet though.

I loved the first one, when I saw it on the German Fantasy Filmfest last year, the second movie is in this years Fantasy Filmfest, so I can’t wait to see it in about 3 weeks here in Cologne.
