This is just silly and unrealistic. I call shenanigans on GL.
It’s not technically a lightsaber.
It’s more like a whip/chain that has been charged with energy, and is able to resist the damaging properties of real lightsabers. Kind of like the Electrostaffs that Grievous’s bodyguards used in Episode 3.
