The Tomb Raider series was a great, well conceived idea with some pretty darn excellent execution too. Lara just happened to be icing on the cake. I do not think she illustrates everything wrong with video games, unless you think being hot automatically makes her some kind of dumb eye candy…

In fact, I think you have it backwards. Lara is actually a strong counter to the Indiana Jones/James Bond type characters characters that have dominated the action adventure genre of the gaming industry.

She was one of the first characters to be portrayed time and time again as one of the few strong independent female video game characters who had a mind of her own, brains, looks and cohones to match.

If you look at this pic and all you see is bewbs and hotpants, then maybe it is you who needs some attitudinal adjustment.
