    Well DUH!

    It is time for you to learn about map projections. Maps displayed with mercator projection ()such as this) distort the polar regions and make them look bigger trhan they really are.

    yep, if you cut Alaska in half, it would be the first and second largest states… both ahead of Texas

    You are correct about Mercator projections, but that really isn’t relevant to this image.
    Alaska is over twice the size of Texas, so this comparison is about correct.
