Luke Cage Season 2 review

Luke Cage Returns!

I still think Daredevil had a better second season, the introduction of The Punisher and their recreation of several amazing comic books moments completely outshines Luke Cage’s second season…but only just barely. The Netflix/ABC/Marvel writers have finally figured out a few of the problems that have been around since the first season of their first series, namely that the seasons just drag on and on, with sudden shifts in villains that seem forced and uninteresting. Mike Coulter is absolutely amazing as always, but his supporting cast helps elevate him to a pretty cool place. I do wish they could figure out a better way to utilize Luke Cage’s power set, in Daredevil they have a cool “one shot fight scene” gimmick that works pretty well and is impressive, but I didn’t see anything in this season of Luke Cage that made me go “wow that was an incredibly well done scene and I’m impressed with Luke Cage as a character!”. Season one some what had a scene that did this (ripping off the car door and going through dozens of bad guys at the gang house) but season two was only able to give one interesting power utilization when another super powered guest star popped in for an episodes.

Season Two has only 10 episodes, down from Season One’s 13 and this felt like a good fit for the story they’re telling.

Newcomer Demetrius Shipp, Jr. stars as the legendary Tupac Shakur in this powerful, true, and untold story of the rapper, actor, poet, and activist – from his early days in New York City to his evolution into a cultural icon whose legacy continues to grow long after his untimely death at the age of twenty-five. ALL EYEZ ON ME also stars Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, Jamal Woolard, and Danai Gurira.

A very well done look into what made Tupac into the super star he was becoming when he was shot to death whilst driving down the road. The murder is still unsolved and may never get solved considering the rumors and theories that suggest the police had something to do with the entire horrible situation. I went in wondering if I would even recognize any of Tupac’s music, I was never a huge fan and being a middle class white kid in a religious family his music wasn’t welcome in our home, so I was pleasantly surprised to recognize nearly a dozen of the tracks. Demetrius Shipp, Jr does an absolutely stunning job in his role, I’m sad that he hasn’t done much movie-wise since this came out in 2017.

Highly suggested.

Halo has been one of the hottest video game properties to never see its potential quite fulfilled in any other medium (even though it has had a few forays into scripted formats). But the $5 billion franchise could see all that changing very soon.

MCS is having some issues with revenue.

1. Banned from Google Adsense, as they feel sexy ladies should not be seen with their ads.
2. Project Wonderful is going out of business at the end of the month.
3. Inorbitads was serving up a whole plate of gross malware and ad redirects, so they’ve been removed effective today.
4. There’s really no one else out there to provide ads to the site that isn’t shady AF.

So why am I here complaining to you about this? The only way to make money right now on the site is either the Amazon ads that I’m about to add to the site which use creepy cookie and search tracking or Patreon.  Obviously the best choice is Patreon as it takes away all the suspense of if I’m going to be able to pay the server bills or not for the month.  If you could toss $2 a month my way I can make sure that your unfiltered stream of images continues unabated.
