The Prisoner

Created by Patrick McGoohan. With Patrick McGoohan, Angelo Muscat, Peter Swanwick, Peter Brace. After resigning, a secret agent is abducted and taken to what looks like an idyllic village, but is really a bizarre prison. His warders demand information. He gives them nothing, but only tries to escape.

I tried, I really did. Usually I can power through series to get a real opinion about it, but I could only get about 4 episodes in. There’s just too slow of a pace and too little happening to capture my attention, and the use of numbers instead of names for the characters is really damn confusing.

  • Defiance

Created by Kevin Murphy, Rockne S. O’Bannon, Michael Taylor. With Grant Bowler, Stephanie Leonidas, Julie Benz, Graham Greene. Life in the city of Defiance, in a near future after the arrival of different alien lifeforms to Earth.

I saw this was on Amazon Prime Video and watched all three (short) seasons over the span of a week. Such a fantastic series that ends on such a fantastic cliff hanger, I decided to give the revamped MMO a go on the xbox.

if you have the inclination, I’m playing Defiance 2050 on the xbox and have no clue what I’m doing, so feel free to join me. It’s a free game, for better or worse!

    Don’t Think

Marvel Said To Be Eyeing Ronda Rousey For She-Hulk Role

Based on what we’re hearing, a woman with the ability to both kick ass and entertain is being looked at for the She-Hulk gig.

I think she’d be pretty good at this, especially if they put her through the Disney acting school and hype up the cgi that they use for Professor Hulk.

  • Another Life

Astronaut Niko Breckenridge and her young crew face unimaginable danger as they go on a high-risk mission to explore the genesis of an alien artifact.

I’m a big fan of Katie Sackoff, but this isn’t her best work. There’s some extremely uneven writing here, but I feel like it’s the start of a great storyline.

Unfortunately though, the negatives far outweigh the positives and i can’t really recommend the series.

    Infinity Train

With Ashley Johnson, Jeremy Crutchley, Owen Dennis, Ernie Hudson. 12-year-old Tulip finds herself on a mysterious train with an endless number of cars, each one its own universe, and must find a way to get home.

There was an episode of Adventure time that feels like it was the inspiration for the basic premise here, I honestly thought they were going to stretch it out much longer than they did, there is certainly room for that to happen.

This was fantastic and short and I highly suggest it to anyone that has a couple hours to kill, each episode is only about 10 minutes long and there’s only 10 episodes, so it goes quick.

    LEGION season 3

The gratifying end of a 3 Act journey.

A helluva ride; entertaining, thought provoking and tragically underrated.

Krypton Canceled After Two Seasons at Syfy Network Not Moving Forward on Lobo Spinoff

“Krypton” has been canceled after two seasons at Syfy. In addition, the NBCUniversal cabler is not moving ahead with a planned “Lobo” spinoff. “Krypton,” set two…

This is such a shame, I really enjoyed the first season and their version of Brainiac is the best one. Their version of Zod is best too, and should I even mention how perfect Lobo is here?

    What a waste.

    The OA – Old Knight

Not as smooth flowing as some other consciousness exploring adventures; but definitely within the top 10% of mindscape entertainment.

Kevin Conroy To Play A Future Bruce Wayne In Crisis On Infinite Earths

Kevin Conroy’s Bruce Wayne finally makes the leap to live action this fall as part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.

This just went from “watch it when it hits the streaming app” to “watch this live, even if I have to sit through 100 commercials”.

    The Boys

Created by Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen. With Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty. A group of vigilantes set out to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their superpowers.

When DC thought they were going to do Grim Dark comic book stories, I bet this is what they were really shooting for, but forgot to take the lens cap off. “The Boys” was a fantastic, tightly scripted 8 episode adaptation of a comic book series that was borderline pornographic with a significant amount of nudity and straight up sex sprinkled throughout the main story and the expansion stories. The Amazon version didn’t have even remotely the same amount of crude content, and they made a couple huge changes to how the story plays out, but I think the choices they made in those changes were for the best and made the entire thing work for the medium.
