Turns out it’s a camp fire that they’re telling stories around, but I like my version better. The stories are ok, but the cover is the best part of this book.

Star Trek: Nemesis

Star Trek: Nemesis: Directed by Stuart Baird. With Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton. The Enterprise is diverted to the Romulan homeworld Romulus, supposedly because they want to negotiate a peace treaty. Captain Picard and his crew discover a serious threat to the Federation once Praetor Shinzon plans to attack Earth.

I’m not entirely sure why, but this movies has some pretty extreme grain and/or DNR, a distracting amount that I didn’t notice in the other three TNG films that are in the 4k set. Maybe it’s the darker sets or something to do with the way they filmed this film, but it’s not a great experience. The film still feels like an inadequate ending to the TNG franchise, so I’m happy they’re getting another opportunity with the third season of Picard.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance: Directed by Mark Neveldine, Brian Taylor. With Nicolas Cage, Violante Placido, Ciarán Hinds, Idris Elba. Johnny Blaze, tortured by the Ghost Rider’s curse, gets a chance of redemption through protecting the Devil’s son, whose father is pursuing him.

The second movie with Nicolas Cage playing ol’ hot head, but they’ve changed the origin, forgotten all the characters from the first movie, and moved production over to Romania. I have no idea why they chose to do that, but the changes were jarring and Nick Cage was weird as possible, which worked for me, but I see no reason for the lack of continuity from the first film.

No Stan Lee here either, but this is another good addition to my “Legacy Marvel” collection, so it’s going on the shelf.
