I know this is a satirical movie ripping on the books’s hyper nationalism and limited philosophical considerations, but I love this movie so much. The soundtrack, the special effect, the plot, all of it just comes together in such a perfect way.

A huge comet passes near the earth, vaporizing nearly the whole planet. Only a few teenagers, who were inside a steel movie projection booth, survive–all those outside were turned to dust.

It was getting late into the night and I wanted to put something on that wouldn’t take more than an hour, so I turnedon Pluto.tv on my Roku and it landed on this movie right as it was starting, so of course I had to re-watch it. This is a classic 80’s take on the idea of 99% of the planet going missing in some way, and for all it’s rough edges, it’s a fun movie.

I dont’ see how they would be difficult to adapt, it’s a pretty simple concept that goes completely off the rails in the last book.

A typical married couple – a little bored with their relationship – come to discover that they are enemy assassins hired to kill each other.

This is among the best films that Angelina Jolie’s done, and she’s done a very large amount of movies that I have great respect for. The chemistry she has with Pitt in Mr & Mrs Smith is absolutely electric. There’s a lot of big names playing supporting roles here, Vince Vaughn as Pitt’s coworker, Michelle Monaghan as a random computer hardware specialist, then Jolie’s associates are all big names now, including Kerry Washington and Jennifer Morrison.

What We Do In The Shadows review

Viago, Deacon, and Vladislav are vampires who are finding that modern life has them struggling with the mundane – like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs, and overcoming flatmate conflicts.

Included with Amazon Prime, this was directed by the same guy that did Thor: Ragnarok and shares the same sense of humor. It has a vastly lower budget, but who needs a big budget when you’re filming four vampire roommates making it in the big world?  This was indeed “Bloody Hilarious”

I love the concept and this movie is easily in my top 10 movies, if only because it introduced me to Steven Gould, who’s written several Jumper books, all of them better than the last. If you haven’t seen the movie, check it out, then if you dig the concept of teleportation, check out the book series.
