  • Stardust review

    81rJEXTDWmL. SL1500 721x1024 Stardust

Escape into the enchanted world of chivalry and romance in Stardust, an epic tale starring Claire Danes with Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro.

Michelle Pfeiffer absolutely killed it as a dark witch hunting a fallen star, I absolutely loved her performance here, along with the makeup and special effects that were used to age / de-age her so many times.

    Lara Croft Tomb Raider review

    A1YRY3sXPyL. SL1500 814x1024 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Video game adventurer Lara Croft comes to life in a movie where she races against time and villains to recover powerful ancient artifacts.

It’s been years and years since I’ve seen this movie and despite it’s release date being firmly in 2001, it has a distinct 90’s flair to it. I only went back to watch this one because of the reboot and because it was on Netflix and we were all amped up to watch more Tomb Raiders doing their thing.

    Level 92 Kirk Hamilton Kotaku

Kirk Hamilton is the Editor-At-Large for Kotaku.com, and he’s always been a huge fan of music in games. He studied jazz at the University of Miami, and ended up out in the Bay Area being a saxophonist for a while and teaching music. I’ve always enjoyed talking with Kirk about game music, so I asked him on to talk about what some of his more recent favorites are lately.

Patrons, you’ll have access to a bonus clip of Kirk and I talking about playing Destiny 2, which was a lot newer when we spoke last year.

Kirk is great – I’m glad he loves game music so much ?

This is a monthly message to help keep MCS afloat!

Over the past 10 years, what began as a personal image blog has turned into viable community of many contributors with new posts going up every hour, every day. I’d like to reduce and remove all the advertising on the site, dedicate more time to MCS in general, expand the reach of MCS, and I think the best way to do that is Patreon!

In order to do this, I’ve created a page at Patreon.

Check out these awesome benefits available:

Become a Patreon today, for as low as $2 a month, MCS+ badges kick in at the $5 level, which according to my calculations is 2 bud lights or 1 craft beer.  Do you feel like the entertainment provided on MCS is worth a single craft beer? I do, which is why I sink so much time and effort into the site.

To those of you that are already Patrons, you have my heart filled bloody thanks.

  • Trump furious over leak of warning to not congratulate Putin

President Donald Trump was infuriated after it quickly leaked that he had been directly instructed by his national security advisers in briefing materials not to congratulate Russian President Vladimir Putin on his recent election victory during their call Tuesday morning, a source familiar with the President

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh today to see what the wacky right wing was saying, and he was more upset that someone leaked the ALL CAPS warning to not congratulate the Russians than he was that our President was congratulating a near dictator on his fraudulent victory of a shame election.

    Foxy Brown review

    81JB2hpJUcL. RI SX300 Foxy Brown

A sexy black woman, Foxy Brown, seeks revenge when her government agent boyfriend Michael is killed.

Utterly enjoyable blaxploitation film starring Pam Grier, it went places I didn’t think it would and she ended up being much more of a hero character than I initially thought.

A portrait of a man whom we all think we know, this emotional and moving film takes us beyond the zip-up cardigans and the land of make-believe, and into the heart of a creative genius who inspired generations of children with compassion and limitless imagination.
