STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™ on Steam

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer™ is a ?runs-based, ?high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim. With the Empire gone and the galaxy rebuilding, The Galactic League is created: an underground, unsanctioned circuit where syndicates bankroll chaos and champions are forged.

The way that I’m playing this game is absolutely unhinged, but it’s working so far and it’s working so well that even though I’ve only played about 4 or 5 hours of the game and am no where near the end of my time with the game, I’m happy to write a glowing review.

Here’s the setup: I’m playing this via Amazon Luna. Already a crazy proposition to play a racing game on a cloud platform, but then I have it open in Edge on my gaming PC in my home office, which is in turn streaming over Sunshine to a Moonlight UWP on my Xbox One X in my living room. The controller works fine and I’m not able to tell how much lag is happening between the jump from the Amazon servers to my local network, then from my gaming PC to my xbox.

The racing is tight, the story is passably entertaining, and the graphics are about as good as I could hope for with the current setup.

Star Wars: A New Hope Radio Drama – Nigel’s Edit

I just finished listening to this in my car on my daily hour long commute after work, and boy howdy was it a fantastic version of the story. How do you turn a 90 minute film into a 4 hour radio drama? Lots of exposition and extra scenes! Some of them are less than great, but all of them add some rich flavor to an already tasty universe.

Above the Below

Three astronauts survive a violently destructive re-entry, only to discover their landing capsule is sinking into the uncharted depths of the ocean. Completely cut off from the world, they must battle both the sea and their isolation to survive.
