The Kid Detective

A happy go lucky kid detective grows up to be a drunken washed up nobody that can’t seem to get serious crimes to solve. At least that’s until a horrifying murder is given to him as a case by the murdered party’s girlfriend. It’s a fairly by the numbers movie doing everything you expect it to, right up until a drawstring gets pulled and all the pieces of the puzzle that have been laid out get thrown all into one bag and some honestly disconcerting things comes to light. I wouldn’t say there’s a twist, but if you pay attention to nearly everything that gets mentioned you might be able to figure out the big finale before it happens. It’s a good mystery movie in that way, it never treats you as an idiot and never hides it’s clues behind silly camera angles or omission.

Journey

The second game of my PS3 backlog mission, this one I got for free back in April of 2020, though it was originally published in 2012, if you can believe that. I had set aside about 4 hours for the game on Monday, but turns out that I didn’t need the full allotment, ‘finished’ it in about 2 hours. Don’t believe me? Here’s the stream:

I have the word in quotes because this isn’t necessarily a game that gets completely done, there’s explorations to do, trophies to collect or ambience to be taken in. A fantasticly fun game that I should have check out years ago, but who has the time to play every great game they’ve ever heard of?
