That guy might as well flip the sign over and write "please stone me like it 99 AD" or "celebrate your religion's history, revive stonings, starting with me."
  • Comment on Joker - learn The Fucking Difference (2008-05-15 12:51:00)
The more I look at theHeath Ledger Joker, the more convinced I am the inspiration came from looking at a few of the folks who hang out at bus stops but never actually get on the bus, you know the ones I'm talking about, the guys who approach your car while you're waiting at the red light and you run the light rather than find out what they want.
  • Comment on A real sandwich. (2008-04-10 23:49:53)
The sandwich is on a full loaf of Italian bread (this one is different from the norm as the only fresh Italian bread at the store was the Italian with cheese, but it was good). I then added an entire tomato, an entire onion, lots of spinach, roasted red peppers (the red stuff tiki), large slices of homemade mozarella, and then a half pound each of genoa salami, pepperoni, and capicola. Add basalmic vinegar and olive oil in copious quanties and that is the finished product. Unfortunately, the veggies are from the market as it is far too early to use the ones from my garden (a late summer/fall deal) and I was too lazy to make my own bread, despite the new recipe I want to try. Next on the sandwich menu will be something with pesto and maybe with goat cheese since wookie_x mentioned it. Not sure what yet.

    That is the truth.

Just sail through the Straits of Malacca sometime, that'll dispell your "all pirates are like in the Disney movies" thoughts. "Hey look they're a couple of speedboats full of men with AKs and RPGs coming up to us real quick, they must be pirates. I wonder if Jack Sparrow is with them."
  • Comment on Red Squirrel Split (2008-04-06 12:48:05)
It's Heihachi the squirrel who tosses his child and grandchild off cliffs and into volcano, mishima style!
  • Comment on Superior Sandwich (2008-04-03 14:34:23)
That's not a sandwich tiki. I know how to make one and will do so later this week, probably tomorrow rather than Saturday. I can't tonight because I have half a duck that will be going on the stove with onions and garlic in a few hours, but wait and I will take a picture of tomorrow's lunch and send it to you. Then your stuff between bread will be exposed for joke it is.
  • Comment on How the moon landing was faked (2008-03-29 10:07:32)
I love these pictures; here they show two folks training so they could familiarize themselves with how the tools and suits interact with dust and rocks so that their training in the tank of water to simulate low gravity can be applied to this and the folks will not get there and have to call NASA saying "hey, um, Huston, so how do we make these things work?" Exact same principle as fire training aboard a ship. You train for emergencies without the fire with simulated smoke on the ship and then on land you actually learn how to fight fires. It is one thing to fill a building with hay and set it on fire and let the trainees put it out on land but having a fire at sea where if things get out of hand those invovled really can't just walk away from the danger.

I'd have issues with the scales, you need to remove those prior to serving (and dpending upon the recipe cooking), but otherwise yummy!
  • Comment on Foie Gras - Food For Sadists (2008-03-26 17:29:48)
I still fail to understand all the protesting over this. Before people go and protest it, they should try it, afterall, you'd feel mighty stupid if you actually succeed and had it banned only to travel abroad, try it, andlove it. Second, it is really good. And finally the US is probably one of the smallest consumers of it in the world so a ban here is like trying to put out a raging forest fire by spitting on it.

    The Doctor just got TARDIS-jacked.
  • Comment on Clifton Cliff Edge (2008-03-21 17:21:16)
I like that bridge. No, seriously, that is a nice bridge, the kind that makes other bridges wish they were that bridge and cry themselves to sleep.

That looks alot like a beach I've been to in Sint Marteen, right at the end of the runway at Princess Juliana Airport.
  • Comment on Dinner in the Sky (2008-03-14 14:38:40)
Its for those rich folks who feel the need to flaunt their wealth by literally tossing their table scrapes down to the rest of us on Earth. Although it does look fairly safe as per hvymetal86 noted with the restraints, I still feel like this would be one of those Monty Python inspired ideas. I mean what if halfway through dinner you get the runs? I have a feeling it takes a good few minutes, minute you don't have with the runs, for the dining area to be lowered back down. And from that top picture I fail to see any rest rooms.
  • Comment on Mountain Castle (2008-01-02 17:50:32)
Funny, I was looking at buying the Mãrklín starter set that comes with a kit of that very castle a few weeks ago. Granted the castle was a nice extra after getting the track, transformer, and really nice class S 3/6 engine and tender with a matched pair of passenger cars and baggage car.
