Amazon discontinues charity donation program amid cost cuts

Amazon is axing the program as CEO Andy Jassy undergoes a sweeping review of the company’s costs.

    Andy has a net worth of $400 million, which is $100 million shy of what Amazon reported to have donated with this program since 2013. Pretty sure you could keep the program but take a pay cut for yourself a few top executives for awhile instead.

    Wouldn’t they get to treat the donations as a tax write-off? (reads article) Hey for some of those groups, the $250 may have been an actual help. I’m guessing this is to cut down on admin costs and leverage their “donations” for better RP impact. “Our donations are not enough about us”

    I work with a cat rescue and they get a few dollars from the program and every damn penny matters.
