Biden: US would intervene with military to defend Taiwan

TOKYO (AP) — President Joe Biden said Monday that the U.S. would intervene militarily if China were to invade Taiwan, saying the burden to protect Taiwan is “even stronger’ after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine .

    China has watched Russia’s misadventure in Ukraine closely. Likely, they are not thinking to themselves: “Yeah, buddy, let’s sign up for some of that, ourselves.”

    The thing about being a Nuclear Power is that it constrains you in ways you wouldn’t expect. We have troops and U.S. Navy ships in Taiwan… China simply cannot engage in a shooting war there until and unless our troops and ships are removed.
