I do hope Fox does decide to fight this, but since companies usually want to avoid litigation, the likely outcome will be about as full & confidential as the MAGA-hat-wearing Nick Sandmann settlement(s) done with CNN & Washington Post.

Fox News once filed a lawsuit over the First Amendment right to LIE to their viewers. They called themselves a “news entertainment” company and therefore weren’t obligated to be truthful. They won. Note that no other news organization signed on.

At this point, they could say that Biden shot Trump to death (despite Trump still being among the living even though he’s 300lbs, eats a shit diet, and avoids exercise at all costs), and they’d get away with it.

*1.6bn. Still a huge amount of money, obvs.

This should be interesting. They’ve got deep pockets, definite evidence of loss and the potential, if successful, to move onto other RW bullshit outlets.

Edit: They are, of course, way ahead of me. Awesome. https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2021/03/26/after-lawsuit-against-fox-news-heres-who-dominion-has-sued-so-far-and-who-could-be-next/?sh=355929c2a1ab
