Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

A galaxy-spanning adventure awaits in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new 3rd person action-adventure title from Respawn Entertainment. This narratively-driven single-player game puts you in the role of a Jedi Padawan who narrowly escaped the purge of Order 66 following the events of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. On a quest to rebuild the Jedi Order, you must pick up the pieces of your shattered past to complete your training, develop new powerful Force abilities, and master the art of the iconic lightsaber – all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors. While mastering your abilities, players will engage in cinematically-charged lightsaber and Force combat designed to deliver the kind of intense Star Wars lightsaber battles as seen in the films. Players will need to approach enemies strategically, sizing up strengths and weaknesses while cleverly utilizing your Jedi training to overcome your opponents and solve the mysteries that lay in your path.Star Wars fans will recognize iconic locations, weapons, gear, and enemies while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, locations, creatures, droids and adversaries new to Star Wars. As part of this authentic Star Wars story, fans will delve into a galaxy recently seized by the Empire. As a Jedi hero-turned-fugitive, players will need to fight for survival while exploring the mysteries of a long-extinct civilization all in an effort to rebuild the remnants of the Jedi Order as the Empire seeks to erase the Jedi completely.

Played right through it in about four days and only installed it because it was included in GamePass, which now includes whatever the EA version of gamepass is named.

It’s a fun game that really hits hard if you’ve been watching the last 20 years of Star Wars movies and television shows, a little less so if you’re not an fervent fan. No spoilers, but I was unhappy with the ending. While I didn’t enjoy the final 30 seconds of the story, boy howdy was I impressed with the content before that, along with the gameplay that was just barely starting to feel repetitive towards the end. It should be no surprise to anyone that you start with a few Jedi powers, then work your way up to having more Jedi powers, along with collection various bits and bobs along the way, and that gameplay loop worked very well for my tastes.

The way the game ends leaves the opportunity for plenty of sequels, so here’s hoping they do something cool with the storyline!

I share similar thoughts with you on this game. Dug the gameplay loop myself and just when I was starting to think, “I hope this wraps up soon” it was last planet time and some nice big set pieces.

I think I know exactly what you’re talking about when mentioning the “final 30 seconds of the story” and it kind of threw me for a loop as well. I think it makes sense for these characters at least but I wasn’t quite sure why the developers would destroy their easy sequel hook so easily. I guess that means if there are any sequels they’ll have to get a bit creative.
