    I may have to rethink my opinion of him. I used to think he was really dumb if somewhat canny. But this? Getting every centrist dipshit pundit and Hilarystan to weep and gnash their teeth over what he calls the virus instead of calling out the criminally inadequate response that will lead to countless deaths? That is sheer genius. Y’all are gonna get AT LEAST 4 more years of this motherfucker.

    I like Chinese folks and the country overall (having backpacked/travelled there a few times in my life), but their government is completely at fault the world economy and your daily routines have come to a screeching halt, not Trump. Local officials in Wuhan suppressed (jailed / disappeared) the doctors / citizen journalists trying to get the word out about the initial Coronavirus cases, then the Chinese government let 5,000,000 people leave the Wuhan region without screening (which is how the virus got out into the world) — I’d add some useful cites from WSJ if any of you cared (but of course you don’t), and WSJ articles are all behind paywalls anyways, maybe you can read them via www.google.com/search?q=wall+street+journal+5+million+people+left+wuhan

    Anyways, trade and immigration to/from China really needs to be shut off (or severely curtailed) until their government shuts down all of the gross “wet markets” where locals pick out — have butchered on the spot — wildlife that isn’t meant to be eaten, like civet cats, pangolins, bats and snakes.

    How many nasty sicknesses have come out of China in recent years? Let’s count: Swine flu, bird flu, SARS, H1N1, Asian flu (in the 50’s; racism even then?) and now this. Honestly, calling it the “Chinese virus” isn’t a slam against the actual race, it’s naming and putting the blame on the people in charge over there.

    For all his faults, I’m glad Trump does take a (periodic) stand against stuff like this. You think your candidate would do the same?

If you google “10.7554/eLife.16777” you’ll see what I’m talking about (it mentions the virus evolved in Mexico, but genetic components came from Eurasia due to long-distance live swine trade). P.S. I don’t usually casually throw juvenile name calling (“racist, sexist, homophobic, pig”, etc.) directly at people I disagree with, because I’d like to engage and learn something instead of being dismissed as just another troll, but if you want to go for it we can play that game, Pedophile.
