The Confederate Flag is a flag of a country that attacked the USA and got their asses kicked. It was forgotten until the Civil Rights Struggle, where it was brought out to remind black people that it wasn’t all that long ago that they were slaves. That is the only modern usage of that flag. It’s not about heritage, otherwise it would’ve been flown in between the Civil War and the Civil Rights Struggle. Anyone who gives you that line is deliberately lying to you.

We got people who live in states that weren’t part of the Confederacy flying this flag and pretending their ancestors lived there (they didn’t).
