The use of the viral meme in an ad is proving controversial in Sweden.

If a meme is sexist against both sexes, is it really sexist?

Last I checked, talking out of one’s ass was not illegal in Sweden.

So Sweden hates Charlie Chaplin then, I get it.

Of course it can be. Mocking a stereotype of women isn’t magically OK just because you add a poke at men at the same time. In much the same way as a racist caricature isn’t suddenly made palatable if it includes a dig at whites as well.

…having said that, hey Sweden: lighten the fuck up, willya? Jeeesus.
