Star Trek: Countdown To Darkness is the can’t-miss lead-in to the new adventures of the Enterprise crew!

A great comic, but only if you take it as a completely separate story and not a countdown to anything and certainly not a prequel at ALL to the “Star Trek Into Darkness” movie. Nothing to do with it at all unfortunately.

That being said, if you want more Alternate Dimension Star Trek, this is a great, if brief, story.
