The Raid: Redemption review

71bbEMUzpeL. SL1054 The Raid: Redemption

Deep in the heart of Jakarta’s slums lies a drug-gang’s safe house, home to some of the most terrifying and ruthless fighters in the city. Arriving before dawn an elite swat team moves in to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when they receive news of the raid, the building’s residents will stop at nothing to destroy the squad, and the unit must battle their way out …

There’s more plot in the synopsis than there was in the movie, but if you enjoy watching action films with no plot, then boy howdy, this is the film for you.  90% of the screen time is actiony action.  There’s too much action in this action film!  Enjoyable, but only if you know what you’re getting into, which is a bloody action film with more blood geysers then it knows what to do with.  If you’re not blood being thrown around in every scene, this may not be the film for you.

Totally agree with the lack of plot but it does contain some of the finest fights scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie. Raid 2’s just as good and does have a fairly decent story too.
