Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist for the band RUSH.
At 62 years old he’s still one of the best drummers in the world.

Best Rock Drummer: 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 2006, 2008 (after 2008 he became one of the judges and is ineligible for further awards)

    Hey…..me too. My buddy’s older brother was on their road crew. As for being overrated….? Maybe. I’ve played in enough bands to know that there are dozens of guys in every town that can play every note exactly like you’ve heard it on every record you own, regardless of who. Whether its guitar, drums, piano….so I don’t really get the whole “best musician” claim….about just about anyone. One thing Peart did do was try some stuff nobody else was doing at the time.
