Rod Taylor is a wonderful and completely under-rated actor. The way he looks with complete adoration at the little model and says, “THIS…is a time machine.” His disgust at the disregard for the intellectual property the Eloi have let rot. “A million years. Sensitive men dying for their dreams. FOR WHAT?” and his hand gesture throws the dust from the decaying books straight into the male Eloi’s face. The fact that he can do all the he-man action stuff AND play an impassioned scientist without hitting a bum note. Impressive. Here’s to ya Rod.
