I read somewhere that all of the flags on the Moon have turned white due to radiation.
For a second I was going to say “of course” but then…UV light causes bleaching in the presence of oxygen…but there’s no oxygen on the moon…
Time to call NASA! For Science!
Yep…they said the shifts from extreme heat to cold also cause chemical breakdown of the pigments and nylon its-self, releasing…oxygen. Eventually the whole thing will rot away, but the flags were probably bleached clean after a year.
