Bought it in ’77; still have it. Didn’t learn ’til only a few years ago that Alan Dean Foster ghostwrote it.

    Sadly, I lost my first-edition paperback to Katrina back in 2005, along with the rest of my library. I remember reading that book through the summer of ’77.

    I still have mine. The local paper ran a contest after the first movie came out. You had to submit a drawing of a new droid for Luke’s next adventure. My friend and I both submitted images and got honorable mentions. My image was put in the paper, his wasn’t. He was kind of pissed. The prize was the paperback and a t-shirt, which I also still have. I also have the page from the paper that contains my image.
