Assimilates the Food: 1922

October 21, 1922. Washington, D.C. “Shriners barbecue.” And a promotion for Prohibition-era Bud.

I had no idea that Budweiser was such an old company, and I also had no idea that they didn’t sell any alcohol at all during the prohibition.  Must have been a weird time in America.

You didn’t know that they didn’t sell alcohol during the Prohibition? That was what the whole point of the Prohibition…

What did you think the Prohibition was?

    tiki god

how did you get to the second part of that sentence without paying any attention to the first part?

they go hand in hand. I was under the assumption that budweiser wasn’t old enough to be in the prohibition, and not only that, but the company stuck around to sell BBQ flavoring of all things.

They still make it too, I had some a few months back, and just thought it was a marketing thing, but apparently the sauce has been around just as long as the brew
