    Pitiful, isn’t it?

    I find the decline of the space program embarrassing, soon NASA will be hitchhiking to the ISS, which remains a worthless pile of junk mostly occupied with keeping itself running and manned.

    The writers of the ’40’s-’60’s are dissapoint

    Until we figure out how to make rocket fuel that spreads love and joy instead of massive amounts of pollution (and use vast amounts of post-peak oil), I don’t think its necessarily a bad thing.

    At some point we do have to get off this fuckin’ dying rock though….

    Rockets that send vehicles into outer space are fueled by hydrogen and oxygen. Their only byproduct is water vapor. Your hybrid probably releases more green house gases on the way to the grocery store than the shuttle did going into orbit.

    The moon is lame. Its just a big rock. Most of space is pretty boring when you get down to it. Obviously it should still be explored, for purely scientific reasons. But the exploration should be done by robots, because they’re good at doing boring stuff.

    I hate to be that ‘Actually’ guy but the samples taken from the moon have been shown to have incredibly high levels of Helium-3 which can be processed as a nuclear fuel without pollution. This actually then makes the moon as thee most important fuel source for the human race for next century.
