    Fur is just a byproduct of processing delicious meat.

    This is commonly not the case. Typically those animals slaughtered for meat do not have pelts worth selling to the fur industry, as their diet is prioritized for quality meat, not fur. The opposite is true of the fur industry, especially those that come from fur ‘factories’ as opposed to those wild-caught.
