    Is the original better? Worse?

    dieAntagonista

Better by far. There’s no good reason for having remade it just like with Let The Right One In.

Agreed, it’s as though Hollywood found a new untapped market of people who don’t like to read when they watch movies.

It’s been this way for a while.

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????

    Not at ALL.

This was such a vast improvement over the vapid German one.

The remake actually has characters instead of simply plot devices. The one guy the German version actually explored was some loser who was saving up for a Ferrari. That’s as much depth as any character in that version had and it was widely criticized for it.

The American version is an enormous improvement but its socially required to hate any remake. Which is more stupid than some of the remakes.

The American one is so much better.

every remake is a remake of a remake

What does everyone have against remakes? I’ll grant that many (maybe even most) suck, but that’s true of all genres of movies in general.
