Nobody thinks twice now about public schools being a necessary part of any citizens rights. Representative gov’t always takes a looooong time to get anything (important) done.

Health care costs are not the same as health care insurance (except for the first two words). As someone who now pays mandatory health insurance in Switzerland… it’s not a big difference. In fact, the only time I notice it is when I get a hospital bill, when it’s freaking cheap compared to what I was paying in the U.S.
The unemployment rate here is also only 4%, even with the economic downturn, so it’s not like it’s going to bomb the economy.
