yes, they do turn out terrible almost every time. believe me, I’ve seen the “good” ones, and they are not.

Me too, and they are. I’ve seen kids, dead relatives, celebrities… most of them were excellent. Not shitty and over done like this and other internet found fails.

Of the ones I’ve seen, the worst are when they try to do open mouth w/ teeth. That never comes out good. Also, when they try too hard to look like the person w/out really considering how it’s going to look on skin (color and texture), it just doesn’t ‘look’ right. Slight caricatures seem to work best.

Exactly. I’ve seen plenty of tattoo portraits done that look amazing, however the worst thing you can do is choose picture where they’re showing teeth. They’ll always look like a dirty criminal.
